Music therapy

What is Music Therapy? Music therapy is the professional use of music and its elements for therapeutic purposes. Its goal is to enhance quality of life and promote physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual well-being.

Through music therapy, individuals work on expression and emotional regulation, communication and relationships, the development of cognitive skills, as well as movement and coordination (among other aspects). Sessions may be individual, group based, family-oriented or community focused, and are adapted to the needs of each person or group.

Who is it for?

Our music therapy sessions are open to people of all ages from newborns to older adults, with no age limit. We support those who wish to improve their overall well-being, as well as individuals with functional diversity, mental health conditions, neurodegenerative diseases (such as Parkinson’s or Alzheimer’s), paralysis, stroke aftereffects, or those receiving palliative care or currently hospitalized. If you love music, you will find here a space where we can accompany you and work together toward your well-being.

What are the sessions like?

Sessions can be individual or group based, depending on each person’s requirements. We offer also flexibility: you can attend them at our Sentimusik center, or we can come to you—whether at your home or in other settings such as schools, community centers, associations, institutions, companies, hospitals, or care homes.

Children

We engage musical games, movement activities, singing, vocal and instrumental improvisation, small concerts, and even theatrical performances. We also include moments of listening and relaxation.

Behind all this fun, we apply specific techniques and procedures that help us achieve the therapeutic goals previously set, always adapted to each child’s individual needs.

Adults

Every session is shaped around your needs and goals. Sometimes the activities are active and full of movement, other times they’re calm and focused on relaxation. We might sing together, explore instruments, improvise music, or simply listen and connect through sound. Whatever the path, everything is adapted so that your experience is meaningful, personal, and unique.
